Project SEARCH Smithsonian Institution
Project SEARCH Smithsonian Institution is a ten-month internship program for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that promotes the development of transferable and marketable job skills. The Project SEARCH Smithsonian program is a partnership between the Smithsonian Institution, SEEC, The Ivymount School, DC Rehabilitation Services Administration, and MD Division of Rehabilitation Services. During the program year, the interns participate in up to three different internship experiences throughout the Smithsonian museums and offices that align with their skills and career ambitions. In conjunction with their internships, interns participate in daily classroom instruction with a focus on resume writing, interviewing skills, professional workplace behavior, and self-advocacy.
